American artist Michael Murphy‘s latest installation is a very thought provoking and topical piece in regards to recent events surrounding the USA’s gun laws.
Everyone has an opinion on gun control and Murphy’s piece, entitled ‘Damage’, aims to generate discussion. The installation is created from a series of black ping-pong balls suspended from the ceiling, from most angles it looks just like a bunch of black ping-pong balls hanging from the ceiling, but from the right angle these balls form the shape of an assault rifle.
The installation is meant to stand as a metaphor for the gun control debate, highlighting the fact that their are many different perspectives of those for and against gun law.
Damage is on display at AVA until 29th June.
