Danish photographer Søren Solkær is best known for his distinctive portraits of musicians, responsible for various iconic images of Björ, The Arctic Monkeys, The White Stripes, R.E.M., Franz Ferdinand, David Lynch, and U2.
Characterised by finding a tension point between intimacy and edginess Søren’s photography is often regarded as cinematic in tone with a distinctive colour palette.
Taking inspirations from filmmakers David Lynch and Wong Kar-Wai through to the works of photographer Philip-Lorca diCorcia and painter Caspar David Friedrich.
Søren has released three fine art photography books: Beat City (2006), CLOSER (2011) and Souls (2011). They are available in the web shop as well as in stores world wide.
Søren has just announced 3 exhibitions in Copenhagen in June during the Copenhagen Photo Festival, showing two of his projects for the first time: Flight and LUNABOY.
