A New York based American graphic artist by the name of James Taylor has redesigned every World Cup poster from Uruguay in 1930 to Brazil in 2014.
The wait is over, the World Cup 2014 is here!! Starting in just over 2 weeks we get to see the World’s best footballers fight it out to be crowned World Champions, who will win this year? Italy, France, Brazil, Germany or the long shot… but always our hopeful favourites England?
Below you can see James has taken all the original posters issued to each event and redesigned them in his own unique vision. We think they are fantastic!! I think my favorite is Mexico 1986.
“Every World Cup has its own particular feel, which I’ve tried to suggest with each design” explains James, “while obviously evoking the period graphically… and hopefully improving on some of the originals!”
We have already printed off a few to get the Popcorn office into the World Cup spirit for the first match!
You can see more of James work on his Behance portfolio here.
